Maciej Lampe is a distinguished former professional basketball player whose career spanned the NBA, EuroLeague, and many other international competitions on the top levels on every continent.
Making him one of the most recognized Polish/Swedish basketball talents in history.
Born on February 5, 1985, in Łódź, Poland, Lampe’s journey in basketball began at 11 years old in Stockholm Sweden where he grew up from the age of 5 years to 15 years of age.
His skills quickly set him apart, leading him to pursue an international path to success.
Lampe team was one of the best youth teams in Swedens basketball history.
Polisen Basket pojkar 85 lead by coach Joakim Samuelson won every competition in the country they took part in for 3 consecutive years. They also played in many international competitions where his team left there mark.
Winning the famous Scania Cup competition recognized as the best basketball tournament in Scandinavia. Where Lampe also secured the MVP trophy twice in this competition. With 2 players from his team making it to the NBA making it a truly historical youth team for Swedish basketball.

At just 15 years old, Lampe moved to Spain, joining one of the best youth programs in Europe with the prestigious club Real Madrid.
Where he honed his skills against some of the best young talents in Europe. He made an historical debut in the Euroleague with the first team at only 16 years of age. A record that has only been broken by Luka Doncic.
His rapid development caught the attention of NBA scouts, and in 2003, he was selected as the 30th overall pick in the NBA Draft by the New York Knicks.
At just 18 years old, he was the youngest player in his draft class, marking the beginning of his professional journey in the world’s most competitive basketball league.
Lampe played in the NBA from 2003 to 2006, suiting up for teams including the Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Hornets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. Using all the tolls for his development in the NBA Lampe decided to move his talents to Moscow Russia where he was offered a contract by the club BC KHIMKY.
Where he won the Russian Cup in 2008 and reached the Eurocup finals in 2009.
Leading him to Europe, where he would cement his legacy as one of the top big men in international basketball.
From 2006 to 2020, Lampe became a dominant force in European basketball, playing for elite clubs such as Khimki Moscow, UNICS Kazan, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and FC Barcelona, Caja Laboral Baskonia and Besiktas.
His time in Russia and Spain was particularly successful, with notable achievements including winning the EuroCup Championship in 2011 with UNICS Kazan, becoming the honored MVP (most valuable player)of the Russian league and center of the year in the Eurocup.
He also secured the Spanish Liga ACB title with FC Barcelona in 2014. With an amazing corner 3 point shot in the last seconds of the game. Securing a Spanish Championship for FC Barcelona.
Throughout his EuroLeague career, he was known for his versatility as a mobile, sharpshooting big man, capable of stretching the floor with his shooting while also providing a strong presence in the paint.

In addition to his club career, Lampe was a key figure for the Polish national team, representing his country in multiple FIBA EuroBasket tournaments. His leadership and experience helped elevate Poland’s presence in international basketball, making him one of the most respected figures in the sports
After an illustrious 22-year career, Lampe retired from professional basketball in 2022, shifting his focus to the world of business and entrepreneurship. Leveraging the discipline, strategic thinking, and resilience he developed on the court, he has since explored ventures in sports, real estate, consulting, wellness, and business development.
